چکیده
Antenatal corticosteroids (ACS) are part of the standard care for women at risk premature birth to reduce adverse neonatal outcome. Neonatal benefits optimized when ACS administered 2-7 days before delivery. Less is known about a shorter administration-to-birth interval less than 48 hours. We assessed association between short Corticosteroid Administration-to-Birth Interval and A retrospective cohort single tertiary center from 2010- 2020. included all singleton preterm live-born neonates born 24 0/7 33 6/7 weeks gestation were initiated an course Betamethasone. Exclusion criteria intra-uterine fetal death, unknown timing administration ACS, more one ACS. consisted Betamethasone (intramuscularly, two doses 12 mg hours apart). divided first following 1st four time intervals compared each those administration. The primary outcome was composite outcome, including mortality or any major morbidity. total 200 gave receiving betamethasone injection, 172 within (48-168 hours) Composite higher initial injection (55.45% vs. 29.07%, OR 3.45 95% CI [2.02-5.89], p.value< 0.0001). However, There no difference in outcomes 12-48 after days. That also true adjusting confounders. 12-24 Administration may be sufficient reducing same morbidities as > It raise question regarding utility second dose ACS.View Large Image Figure ViewerDownload Hi-res image Download (PPT)

Prophylactic Antenatal Corticosteroid before Elective Cesarean Delivery at or Near Term to Improve Perinatal Outcome
Objective: To evaluate whether giving the recommended prophylactic course of dexamethasone before delivery reduces the occurrence of neonatal respiratory morbidities after elective cesarean delivery between 34 and 37 weeks. Methods: This randomized clinical trial recruited 130 women with singleton pregnancies between 34 and 37 weeks scheduled for elective cesarean delivery. They were randomized...
متن کاملCardiac arrhythmias 48 hours before, during, and 48 hours after discharge from hospital following acute myocardial infarction.
The cardiac rate and rhythm were studied by 24-hour ambulatory electrocardiographic recording in 44 patients before, during, and after being discharged from hospital following an acute myocardial infarction. The first recordings were started 48 hours before discharge, the second on the morning of the day of discharge, and the third 48 hours after discharge (at home). While in hospital and after...
متن کاملIs There Escape from Renal Actions of Vasopressin in Rats with a Hyponatremia for Greater than 48 Hours?
Escape from the renal actions of vasopressin is said to occur in rats with chronic hyponatremia. Our objective was to provide specific evidence to test this hypothesis. Hence the osmolality in the excised renal papilla and in simultaneously voided urine (U(Osm)) was measured in rats with and without hyponatremia. To induce hyponatremia, rats were fed low-electrolyte chow for 6 days. In the firs...
متن کاملThe effects of carbohydrate loading 48 hours before a simulated squash match.
The aim of this study was to ascertain whether a high carbohydrate diet in the days before movement patterns simulating a squash match would increase carbohydrate oxidation during the match, and alter physical performance. Nine New Zealand level squash players were recruited to complete a simulated squash match on two occasions: 1) following a 48-hr high carbohydrate (11.1g·kg-1); and 2) follow...
متن کاملWhy Believe That There Is a God?
This article presents an argument for the existence of God, showing that the evident phenomena are best explained by supposing that a God causes them. The argument is based on the inductive force of four very evident general phenomena: that there is a physical Universe; that it is governed by very simple natural laws; that those laws are such as to lead to the existence of human bodies; and tha...
